It provides a range of financial products including student loan refinancing, mortgages, personal loans, credit cards, investing, and banking services, primarily targeting young professionals.

SoFi went public through a merger with a special-purpose acquisition company (SPAC) in 2021. It has over 6.9 million members and has funded over $73 billion in loans. Notably, SoFi obtained a national bank charter in 2022, allowing it to hold loans for investment.
